ree

when you weren't around, I was doing fine.

wake up, kickass, repeat

same old goofing around and sleep.

I didn't see you coming.

you prowled at the gates of my Instagram feed

only to take home in me.

I showered you into my hair,

made a bracelet of your thoughts.

you are a new layer of skin.

a new book.

your fingerprints on my hoodie,

scent on my neck.

you stir my heart.

there is always

going to be

space

enough for you to crawl

in my arms and

let go

of exhausted sighs, of hurt.

empty your mind

of all darkness,

let me sweep it under the mattress.

you are not alone.

you stir my heart.
